Book Marketing FAQ

Here are the answers to some of our most frequently asked questions. Don’t see what you’re looking for? Contact us.

If I purchase a publishing package, do I have to include marketing?

No way! Marketing is an important part of the publishing process, but we understand that every author has different goals and objectives when publishing. We’re happy to provide advice, but we’ll never try to pressure you into a service you don’t want.

I want my book to reach more people, but I don’t know where to begin.

Contact us! We’re happy to chat with you about the goals you have for your book, and work out a strategy that makes sense for your specific needs.

Do you buy followers?

Never. Buying followers is a shady practice that puts your accounts at risk. Our team works hard to build a following on your social media made up of real people. We believe that 5,000 people who care about your book outweigh 20,000 robot accounts every time.

I didn’t publish through Columbus Publishing Lab, but I’m interested in using your marketing services. Is this possible?

We’d love to work with you. Columbus Publishing Lab provides marketing services for lots of authors and small presses with books published independently of our services.

Do you provide book trailers?

We do not. We’re committed to providing authors with services that we know are going to help them sell more books. Book trailers are expensive, and in our experience they don’t provide a good return on investment.
